As more organizations demand financial justification for new IT investments, both IT vendors and internal IT staff are struggling to understand the best way to provide this justification. WCG’s TCO Service Desk enables users to gain some of the benefits of the WCG TCO e-Valuator software and methodology in the shortest possible timeframe, without requiring a software license or training. It is ideal for enterprises and IT vendors that need a financial justification for an IT investment, but do not have resources to do this type of analysis in-house.

Here’s how it works:

  1. The TCO Service Desk provides users with a data collection spreadsheet with questions related to the organization’s financials (such as tax rate, depreciation method for IT assets, discount rate, etc.), current IT infrastructure, and proposed new investment.

  2. The user completes the spreadsheet and sends it to the TCO Service Desk.

  3. The TCO Service Desk imports the data into the WCG TCO e-Valuator software and produces a set of reports that provide a financial analysis of the current solution compared with the proposed solution, in terms of Total Cost of Ownership, Return on Investment, Net Present Value and Internal Rate of Return.

  4. The TCO Service Desk provides a complete report to the user with the financial analysis and a written interpretation of the results. Based on the report, the user will have a sound financial justification for accepting or rejecting the proposed investment.

The TCO Service Desk is available for IT vendors that require financial justification for proposals as well as enterprise customers looking to evaluate their own investments.
